A Stage-based Monitoring Method for Batch Processes with Limited Reference Data
نویسندگان
چکیده
A method is proposed for batch process monitoring and fault diagnosis, starting from a single batch reference data and updating with accumulation of successive batches. A moving data window method is adopted for exploring local covariance structure, stage division, and the development of monitoring models. The application to an injection molding process shows the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method for batch industry. Copyright © 2004 IFAC

MPCA Fault Detection Method Based on Multiblock Statistics for Uneven-length Batch Processes
In the present work, multiway principal component analysis (MPCA) fault detection method based on multiblock statistics (MBS) is developed for handling uneven-length batch processes. The first step is to obtain equal length batch records (stage I) and the uneven-length stage (stage II). Stage I is divided into p-1 smaller even-length sub-blocks. Stage II is regarded as a sub-block. The uneven-l...

A novel KPLS-PLS batch monitoring and quality prediction approach based on fuzzy clustering soft-partition is proposed to solve the stage-transition monitoring and prediction problem in multistage batch processes. The proposed method calculates firstly similarity indices between different time-slice data matrices of batch processes, then phase division algorithm is designed by fuzzy clustering ...
متن کاملDetermination of right/left return to scale in two-stage processes based on dual simplex
As a non-parametric method of relative efficient measurement of a group of decision-making units (〖DMU〗_s), Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one of the most important tools in efficiency computation. One of the main concerns dealt with in DEA is dealing with return to scale in two-stage processes in which, produced outputs of the first stage inputs are used as inputs for the second stage. The...
متن کاملComparison of Conduction Based and Mediator Based Models for Microbial Fuel Cells
Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are processes used for simultanuous bioenergy capturing and waste treatment. In this study, a model for MFCs based upon a conduction mechanism for electron transfer is proposed, which integrates substrate utilization, current production and conduction and microbial distribution and growth in batch flow mode. The outputs of the model and that of a mediator based mode...
متن کاملStage-Oriented Statistical Batch Processes Monitoring, Quality Prediction and Improvement
Multistage/multiphase is an inherent characteristic of many batch processes, which should be taken into consideration to ensure better batch process monitoring, analysis, quality prediction and improvement. In this paper, a series of stage-oriented multivariate statistical methods on such topics are reviewed. Then, the modeling problem of transition between stage and stage is discussed. A new p...
